The GEHECO team consists passionate individuals who believe technical solutions can make a great difference in helping our planet become more sustainable. From our office and workshop in Delft, we develop our technology and run our projects. We are based in the YES!Delft building and enjoy the YES!Delft community activities as trainings and the Friday drinks.
Onno Bierhoff
CEO & Founder
Very passionate about starting and scaling businesses. Responsible for the business side of GEHECO, translating strategic objectives into creative and pragmatic solutions within our rapidly-changing environment.
Bart van de Kerk
CTO
Eagerly using my background in engineering and project management to develop the GEHECO technology in a fast and controlled way. Heading to a market-proof product and continuously optimising the performance and reliability of our products.
Mohamad Alkenaan
Development Engineer
I leverage my expertise in scientific research to analyze procedures, set up lab tests and validate hypotheses. I also apply my mechanical engineering skills to 3D modeling and concept testing.
Lars van Wolfswinkel
Jr. Mechanical Engineer
Helping realise the dream of making sustainable ground-source heat pumps accessible to the mass market. Here, we develop and test new concepts on the daily, and I put my Design Engineering background to work by methodically going from an idea to a manufacturable working product.

Intern: Technical prototyping
Key Responsibilities / What you will do:
- Detail design of prototypes; pragmatically create the drawings required to create prototypes
- Build prototypes; you will make the prototypes with tools provided in the (very well equipped) mechanical workshop. Your main responsibility is to take design concepts and improvements, and build prototypes which you will assemble yourself and test.
- Collaboration; we are a small team where every individual counts. We need your analytical thinking and problem solving skills to improve our product and drive our projects forward.
- Engage in problem-solving exercises, learn by doing on a daily basis and contribute fresh perspectives to the development of the GEHECO product.

(Gepensioneerd) Boormeerster / Adviseur
- Ter ondersteuning van de ontwikkeling van onze innovatieve boormethode; zoeken we (praktische) praktijkervaring, iemand die met ons kan meedenken en (ongevraagd) advies geeft op onze methode en machines.
- Bekend met BRL 2100; en eventueel BRL 11000 en kan ons helpen met onze testen “BRL proof” te maken en onze methode en machine geaccepteerd te krijgen binnen de BRL en bijbehorende protocollen. Een pre als je bekend bent met de zogenaamde “alternatieve werkwijzen” procedure binnen de BRL.
- Flexibiliteit zowel geboden als gevraagd. Deze rol is geen full-time functie, maar een adviesrol, we zoeken vooral iemand met passie voor boren en bodemwarmte die met zijn/haar ervaring ons verder wil helpen, we zijn een start-up dus het kan soms erg dynamisch zijn. Tijdsbesteding is enkele uren per week, in nader overleg en over het algemeen flexibel in te plannen.

Geotechnical Engineer
Key Responsibilities / What you will do:
- Understanding the geotechnical aspects of drilling; with your extensive knowledge of the soil mechanics, you will provide valuable input to the design of the drilling product. It is a plus, if you worked on projects with soil or drilling up to 50m deep.
- Create design solutions while developing the product; during the development of our products, problems will have to be solved with innovative design solutions. You will be responsible for bringing in the geotechnical aspects to advance the development.
- Test & Learn: when testing the prototypes, you will engage in several roles, to make the test successful and optimize the learning effects.
- Collaboration; we are a small team where every individual counts. We need your analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to improve our product and drive our projects forward.
- Flexibility; Our small team does not allow us to set strict fixed roles, so while your main tasks will be as described, every individual is required to also take various other tasks as required by the company.
- Engage in problem-solving exercises, learn by doing on a daily basis and contribute fresh perspectives to the development of the GEHECO product.

Intern: electronics and control
Key Responsibilities / What you will do:
- Design and create sensors and control electronics; pragmatically create the control components and sensors (hardware) that allow the drill to be controlled automatically.
- Develop the software to do the control. You can use Arduino’s, raspberry Pi’s etc to do so. You will devise sensors and electronics for the drilling process.
- Create a data platform to gather and analyse data. Gathering data shall be done wireless from different sources on the construction site.
- Test prototypes; you participate in frequent tests in order to validate your designs and designs other team mates come up with.
- Collaboration; we are a small team where every individual counts. We need your analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to improve our product and drive our projects forward.
- Engage in problem-solving exercises, learn by doing on a daily basis and contribute fresh perspectives to the development of the GEHECO product.

Intern: soil type detection
Key Responsibilities / What you will do:
- Develop and create a sensor to detect different types of soil at the drill head; pragmatically create a sensor, fitting in the limited space available, to detect different soil types.
- Validate the sensor; you validate the sensor in the lab with actual data available, but also during field tests.
- Collaboration; we are a small team where every individual counts. We need your analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to improve our product and drive our projects forward.
- Engage in problem-solving exercises, learn by doing on a daily basis and contribute fresh perspectives to the development of the GEHECO product.
